The Tigers were dominant on the mound on Saturday, utilizing three pitchers in a no-hit effort against the Blue Jays. The trio of Matt Manning, Jason Foley and Alex Lange combined to throw just the second no-hitter of the 2023 MLB season and the ninth in Detroit franchise history.
After the game, Lange was on the field for a postgame interview, during which he let slip an NSFW comment while celebrating the achievement with the fans at Comerica Park.
“Man. Holy s---! How bout that Detroit?” said Lange while gesturing to the crowd, prompting the interviewer, Bally Sports’s Trevor Thompson, to swiftly apologize for the reliever’s profanity.

“O.K. there we go. We apologize for what you might have just heard there,” said Thompson.
Lange picked up his 13th save of the season during the combined no-hitter on Saturday, striking out one batter in the ninth frame in order to shut the door on Toronto.
The Tigers scored two runs in the first inning, and the following eight frames were scoreless between both teams as Detroit picked up a 2–0 win. Manning fanned five batters and walked three across 6 2/3 innings before handing the baton to Foley and Lange.
