Erica Herman is reportedly looking to take Tiger Woods to court to nullify a non-disclosure agreement she signed at the start of their relationship, amid claims the couple have split.
Though there is yet to be official news of a split, several reports claim the couple are no longer together after a five-and-a-half-year relationship.
Reports in the US state the 39-year-old has now filed a lawsuit against the golf icon, over an NDA she alleged Woods made her sign at the start of their relationship. She claims the NDA should not longer be enforced in part due to the Speak Out Act.
It is an Act of Congress which provides an exemption in instances where there is 'evidence of sexual assault or harassment'. There is no suggestion she has accused Woods of any wrongdoing at this stage.
In court papers acquired by TMZ, Herman claims that Woods tried to “aggressively enforce” the NDA that she signed around August 2017 - the year they entered a relationship.
The pair first met when she helped to manage his pop-up restaurant in Florida, which is known as The Woods Jupiter. They were first spotted together at the 2017 President's Cup when Erica wore a 'player spouse' badge.
Herman has attended many tournaments Woods has played in and in 2019, following his epic Masters victory, accompanied him to the White House, where he was honoured with the Presidential Medal of Freedom by former President Donald Trump.
But since then her appearances have been scarce, forcing her to deny reports they had split. She told Radar Online in 2019: "We haven’t split. I’ve been to every tournament he’s been at." Herman then explained that she hasn’t been pictured much because she "doesn’t like public attention.”
Erica was very supportive of Woods throughout his recovery from his 2021 car accident that left him with significant leg injuries and his golf career hanging by a thread. She was by Woods’ side when he was inducted into the Golf Hall of Fame in 2022, but the pair have not been pictured together in public since the US Open last August.
Woods split from his first wife Elin Nordegren in 2010 following his infidelity and was linked with a host of stars before going public with Herman.
Herman did not appear to be in attendance at the PGA Tour’s Genesis Invitational tournament last month — Woods’ first time competing on the Tour since the Open Championship in 2022. He is unlikely to feature on the PGA Tour again until The Masters.
