On February 23 2021, Tiger Woods was involved in a serious car accident that, at the time, appeared to threaten his future playing golf at the top level.
While Woods was driving through Rancho Palos Verdes in California, he was involved in a single-vehicle crash that resulted in his SUV flipping over. He was left with multiple broken bones and a fractured right leg.
Police said that Woods had been driving at 80mph, more than twice the speed limit, when the crash occurred. Woods himself could not recollect the circumstances surrounding it.
