Tierney to Celtic latest as defender comes on for Arsenal vs Spurs

Kieran Tierney climbed off the bench for Arsenal as speculation grows over an emotional return to Celtic.

It's claimed Celtic are closing in on a pre-contract agreement to sign Tierney when his Arsenal contract expires in the summer.

However, the full-back could even move to Celtic this month with a loan possible should the Parkhead club qualify for the knockout rounds of the Champions League.

It's thought Tierney would be willing to see his weekly wage slashed to seal a return to Celtic.

The defender has barely played for Arsenal in recent seasons having been shipped out on loan to Real Sociedad last season.

He featured in the Carabao Cup against Crystal Palace last month and then made a cameo appearance against Manchester United in the FA Cup at the weekend.

Now, Tierney has been called upon by Mikel Arteta for his first Premier League outing this season.

The defender came off the bench after 77 minutes as he replaced goalscorer Leo Trossard.
