SCOTLAND defender Kieran Tierney has been forced off in the match against Ireland.
The Arsenal full-back had gone down clutching his head in the penalty box.
He received treatment from Scotland physios before being subbed off with a suspected head knock.
Tierney seemed adamant he could continue in the Nations League clash but it appeared he was told he would be coming off by physios.
The full-back was visibly disappointed to be forced off with head injury protocols appearing to take the decision out of his hands.
Tierney had first fallen to the ground under pressure from Troy Parrott in the box. There were faint appeals for a penalty with VAR in use but nothing was given.
And after Tierney's withdrawal from action, pundit Alan Hutton suggested he could miss the next match against Ukraine if he was taken off with a concussion.
Giving his view on the penalty claims and injury blow, the former Scotland international said: "I don't think there is much in it. Obviously we hope Kieran Tierney is alright.
"It looks like maybe he has taken a head knock and he's had to go off.
"Protocols say that he might not be available for the next game but I don't think there was a lot in it."
