The huge demand for Peter Kay’s stand up tour saw more than a dozen new Manchester shows added the same day tickets went on sale on Saturday.
The Bolton comedian, known for Phoenix Nights and Car Share as well as his stand up, is embarking on his first tour in 12 years – and his return has sparked huge excitement.
Announced last weekend, the show tour begins at the AO Arena in Manchester next month and will run well into 2025 such is the unprecedented demand for tickets.

A pre-sale earlier in the week crashed apps and websites due to the overload of traffic and the full sale on Saturday saw colossal levels of interest. Some two million people logged onto Ticketmaster and several hours later buyers were still being placed in an online queue which was hundreds of thousands long.
Early in the day, more AO Arena gigs were added for 2024 and as demand continued, so did the addition of new dates. As a result, Kay is set to play 42 gigs just at the AO Arena alone, running from December 2022 until May 2025, Lancs Live reports .
With all of those down to limited seats, it means he has sold more than 800,000 tickets just for that one venue. Factoring in a monthly residence at the O2 Arena in London plugs gigs in Liverpool, Leeds, Birmingham and more the sales have signficantly surpassed the record he set in 2010 by playing to more than 1.2m in a single tour.
Tickets remain on sale for some Manchester shows but every single one is listed with Ticketmaster as being "low availability."
At the time of publishing See Tickets had some tickets for sale at a number of Manchester shows including Saturday 27 July 2024, Friday 23 and August 2024 and Friday 18 October 2024.

Peter thanked his fans on social media yesterday for the overwhelming response, taking the chance to sneak in a pop at former Health Secretary Matt Hancock who is currently on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here. He said: "THANK YOU!!
"Absolutely blown away by the ticket sales so far, especially as some of the shows aren't for a good while yet but don't worry we'll have a laugh when we're all together.
"Much love, Peter
"P.S Matt Hancock IS a proper b***-***."
