Ticketmaster warning to Taylor Swift fans trying for tickets

Ticketmaster has shared a warning to all Taylor Swift fans trying to get presale tickets this week.

This week tens of thousands of people have been waiting in huge queues in the hope of bagging tickets to next year's UK Eras tour. The popular singer confirmed last month that she would be bringing her critically-acclaimed Eras tour to Liverpool, London, Edinburgh and Cardiff in 2024.

General sale will start on July 17, but the presale began yesterday and is split over three days with each date having its own allotted time. This week's sale is for those who received a code after pre-ordering Taylor's latest album Midnights.

There are only a small number of tickets available through presale and there is a limit to four per customer. Ticketmaster has warned fans that attempts to breach this rule could see your orders being cancelled as their website stated there will be "overwhelming demand".

Taking to Twitter, they responded to a fan as they said: "Persons who exceed the ticket limit of 4 may have any or all of their orders cancelled without notice by Ticketmaster at its discretion. This includes orders associated with the same name, e-mail address, billing address, credit card number or other information."

The ECHO previously reported that demand for Taylor Swift tickets is “at its peak”, according to an online ticket marketplace. Viagogo offered advice to fans who haven’t been able to get their hands on tickets during the pre-sale and will be looking for alternative options.

The online ticket marketplace encouraged fans to “wait for demand to settle” and added that the pricier tickets - such as those listed for £2,500 - “rarely, if ever, sell”. It comes after fans hit out at prices online as people attempted to re-sell their tickets.

A Viagogo spokesperson said: “The European leg of Taylor Swift’s Eras tour has been long anticipated."

They added: "With tickets having only just gone on sale, demand is at its peak right now.

"Viagogo is a regulated marketplace where fans have the freedom to buy and sell tickets to their favourite live events, safely and securely, backed by a guarantee. Sellers on our marketplace may list tickets at high values when demand is high, but prices can change and tend to reduce over time.

"We recommend Swifties wait for demand to settle and check regularly for a listing that meets their budget. Tickets for Taylor Swift’s UK dates have already sold for as low as £172 on our platform. Also, tickets listed at eye-catchingly high levels rarely, if ever, sell. "
