This week continues to show a step in the right direction for Jets quarterback Zach Wilson. Wilson did 7-on-7 work Wednesday and was listed as a limited participant in practice. That trend continued Thursday. In fact, the Jets didn’t have a single player miss practice Thursday.
That includes safety Jordan Whitehead, who did not practice Wednesday with an ankle injury and was considered “week-to-week.” He was upgraded to a limited participant Thursday. Keep an eye on his status Friday, but his chances of playing against the Browns certainly went up as a result.
Also returning to practice Thursday after missing Wednesday were OT George Fant (knee) and DL John Franklin-Myers (toe).
Along with Wilson, punter Braden Mann (back) was limited again Thursday and should start punting again Friday. Wide receiver Braxton Berrios (heel) was upgraded from limited on Wednesday to a full participant on Thursday.
The new addition to the injury report Thursday was TE C.J. Uzomah, who was limited with a hamstring injury.
For the Browns, three players did not practice Thursday. OT Jack Conklin (knee) was given a day of rest after being limited Wednesday. OT Chris Hubbard was listed with elbow/illness. He was a full participant Wednesday but did not practice Thursday. TE David Njoku did not practice due to personal reasons.
WR Amari Cooper (rest day Wednesday), DE Isaiah Thomas (hand) and WR Michael Woods II (illness) all were listed as full participants Thursday.
