A young Scots woman has been left scarred for life after her 'manipulative' ex-boyfriend brutally attacked her in a Glasgow hotel.
Jordana Rutherford was just 17 when William Weir knocked her unconscious during a violent assault at the Citizen M on Renfield Street, following an argument in November 2019.
The 20-year-old, from West Calder, said the terrifying ordeal caused her to attempt to take her own life to heal her pain, as well as being the reason she now experiences severe panic attacks.
HMRC issues urgent warning to everyone with UK Government Gateway login
HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has issued a warning to all customers not to share sensitive personal information online to avoid their identities being used to commit tax fraud.
HMRC has reported that it is aware criminals are attempting to obtain customers’ UK Government Gateway logins and other personal details, enabling them to register for Income Tax Self Assessment and submit bogus tax refund claims before pocketing the repayment.
Individuals, ranging from teenagers to pensioners, are being targeted on social media platforms by fraudsters seeking to ‘borrow’ their identities - in return, the individual is promised a cut of the tax refund ‘risk-free’.

The top 9 Scottish fish and chip shops named among best in the UK
The top UK chippies serving up the best fish suppers have been named in an annual awards list from a top industry magazine – and 9 of them are in Scotland.
The leading industry experts at Fry Magazine tested some of the top fish and chip shops from around the country with a tough set of criteria to narrow down their final shortlist, with the top 9 Scottish entries being named for 2022.
Mystery judges visited each establishment that entered unannounced to sample the food and assess key aspects of the business from the cleanliness of the premises to staff knowledge and professionalism, as well as their social media presence.

ITV bomb threat: Channel shuts down all live TV as police surround studio
ITV pulled its live shows off air today after a bomb threat.
This Morning and Loose Women were axed, with emergency footage aired instead.
Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby had been presenting This Morning live from the studio but when the show came back on after the ads, the pair appeared in a pre-recorded segment to announce that they couldn't be with viewers live today.

Britain's largest naval warship heading to Scotland
Britain's largest naval warship is currently on its way to Scotland.
HMS Queen Elizabeth has sailed from Portsmouth and is heading north, according to The Royal Navy, and will return to Glen Mallen on the Clyde in Scotland for a routine logistics visit.
The visit comes ahead of returning to sea to carry out vital training and exercises to keep her ready for operations, reports the UK Defence Journal.
