Thursday horse racing tips from Newsboy for cards at Huntingdon, Chepstow and Sedgefield

A drop in class is what the doctor ordered for LA RENOMMEE in Huntingdon's Racing TV Fillies' Juvenile Hurdle (2.40).

Since being acquired from France the filly has run in Listed and Grade 2 events, most recently 35 days ago. In that Sandown contest she was behind Love Envoi, who went on to win at the Cheltenham Festival.

The least experienced member of the field, La Renommee had earlier shaped as though she would be better for her first run for connections. In-form Dr Richard Newland has found a nice opening here for the daughter of Doctor Dino, receiving 7lb from Ile De Jersey, a rival rated only 2lb superior.

Ben Pauling, on the scoresheet at Prestbury Park last week, sends NOW IS THE WINTER to Sedgefield for the Follow AtTheRaces On Twitter Handicap Hurdle (4.17). His best recent effort came over course and distance last month, when a three-and-a-half length second to an improving front runner.

These long distance races suit and his previous win is on good to soft ground, so the prevailing surface should help his jumping.
