The Met Office has forecast thunder for the city on Friday, in what is otherwise expected to be a sunny day for Merseyside. It will be a humid start to the day on Friday, with 81% humidity forecast at 6am, before changing to 50% by lunchtime.
According to the latest forecast, temperatures will reach highs of 29 degrees tomorrow before the sun makes way for "thunder showers" in the afternoon. Forecasters predict the heatwave will continue into the weekend, with Saturday and Sunday also set to see sweltering temperatures of up to 28 degrees.

It comes just weeks after Liverpool recorded its hottest day on record of 36 degrees. An amber weather warning for extreme heat has been issued by the Met Office for parts of England and Wales.
The Met Office forecast for the North West this weekend said: "After the warm start, temperatures will rise steadily throughout the morning under sunny skies. Feeling hot on Friday afternoon in the sunshine, and with light winds. Maximum temperature 32 °C.
"Dry and sunny on Saturday, and turning very hot. A little cloudier on Sunday, but still hot. Cloudier still on Monday with a risk of showers. Still feeling very warm."
