THUNDERSTORMS are expected across Scotland on Saturday with the Met Office issuing a yellow weather warning.
The alert is in place for most of the country with the forecaster’s website explaining that “thunderstorms and heavy showers” will bring some disruption.

It adds that “lightning and hail are likely” with the potential for between 15 and 20 millimetres of rain to fall in one hour and “perhaps 30mm” within two to three hours.
The Met Office has said there is a “good chance” that driving conditions will be affected by “spray, standing water and/or hail, leading to longer journey times by car and bus” while “delays to train services” are also a possibility.
The website adds: “Some flooding of a few homes and businesses is possible, leading to some damage to buildings or structures.”
The forecaster has also said there will “probably” be some damage “to a few buildings and structures from lightning strikes”.
The yellow warning is in place from 10am today until 11pm this evening.
