The Oklahoma City Thunder announced Thursday they had recalled second-year forward Ousmane Dieng from the G League’s OKC Blue. This comes two weeks after he was initially assigned there.
This has been a common occurrence for the 20-year-old through his first two seasons in the NBA. Dieng has been mostly outside of the rotation this season, so getting him on the Blue has given him a chance to get consistent playing time.
With the Thunder returning from a four-game road trip and preparing for a four-game homestand, this will give Dieng a chance to possibly get rotation minutes during the final month of the season.
In 24 games with the Blue, Dieng averaged 16.2 points on 43.2% shooting, seven rebounds and 4.7 assists. He has shot 28.3% from 3 on 5.3 attempts.
In 29 games with the Thunder, Dieng averaged 4.1 points on 42.6% shooting, 1.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists. He’s shot 31.3% from 3 on 2.2 attempts.
Dieng was drafted with the No. 11 pick from the 2022 NBA draft.
