More thunder and even some unseasonal hail could hit the North East on Thursday according to the Met Office.
A wild week of weather is set to continue. On Tuesday we saw areas hit by flash flooding during heavy rain, and while Wednesday was less dramatic, the rest of the week is still forecast to be hugely unsettled when it comes to the weather.
Thursday's UV levels will be medium, but pollen and pollution will be low.
A Met Office spokesperson said: "Rather cloudy, with limited brighter spells, but also occasional heavy showers. Thicker cloud spreading inland from then North Sea through the afternoon, with more persistent heavy rain possible, perhaps thundery. Maximum temperature 20 °C."
For the rest of the week we can expect more of the same. "Cloudy start Friday and Saturday, with overnight mist patches clearing to brighter intervals," the Met Office said. "Showers likely, heavy and thundery Friday, easing Saturday. Mostly dry Sunday, with variable cloud and sunny intervals."
