Two men attempted to break into a Nationwide branch with a metal bar before driving off in a Ford Fiesta.
Merseyside Police is appealing for information after an attempted burglary of Nationwide Building Society on London Street in Southport at around 6.30pm on Friday, January 13. Officers were called to a report that two men were attempting to force entry to the front door of the branch with a metal bar.
No threats were made or injuries caused as a result, with the suspects driving off from the scene in a red Ford Fiesta. CCTV and witness enquiries are being carried out and anyone with information or dashcam footage of the incident is asked to contact police.

Detective Inspector Philip Ryan said: “We are in the early stages of the investigation and are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the attempted burglary, or may have noticed something suspicious to please get in touch. We also urge people to please check your CCTV and dashcam for footage of the red Ford Fiesta in the area from 6.30pm onwards to please share this with us.
“Any information, no matter how small, will help the investigation to help bring the offenders to justice.”
