A man has been left with serious facial injuries after being attacked by a thug with a weapon on a Scots street.
The incident occurred close to the Kirklandneuk playing fields in Renfrew between 2am and 3am on Saturday, February 12.
The 25-year-old was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to his injuries.
Police have described the male suspect as being around 5ft 10ins tall, of a slim to medium build and as speaking with a local accent.
He was wearing a blue puffer jacket with the hood up, dark grey or black jeans and black trainers at the time.
Police Scotland are now appealing for anyone with information to get in touch with them.
Detective Constable James Campbell said: “This incident saw a man sustain a serious facial injury.
“I am appealing for anyone with any information which may assist us to get in touch.
“I would also ask anyone who was in the area at the time and may have dashcam footage to contact us.”
