Thrifty mum praised for 'great' hack to ensure you don't overspend in Aldi

It's all too easy to nip out for some essentials, only to end up spending far more than we intended to, with some bargains proving to be just too tempting to resist. With the cost of living crisis continuing to take its toll, many of us will be looking to cut back where we can, and preparation can be key.

With this in mind, a savvy mum-of-two has now shared how she makes sure not to overspend during shopping trips to Aldi, ensuring that she sticks to her 'tight budget'.

Mum Nikki O'Gorman, who regularly shares content about food and shopping, recently took to TikTok to demonstrate how she prepares for an Aldi shop the night before, and it really couldn't be easier.

In a TikTok video, Nikki, who goes by the username @blehnikki, advised her followers: "If you're like me and you're on a tight budget and you shop in Aldi, I just have a really handy tip that I always do the night before I do my food shop."

Nikki then demonstrated how she heads to the 'Click & Collect' section on the Aldi website, which brings shoppers to the groceries page. Here, you can look up any items you're planning on buying, and can check out exact prices.

She continued: "I always make an exact shopping list on my phone in my notes so I know exactly what I need to buy."

After figuring out the prices of each of the items she needs, Nikki then adds these to her shopping list, making sure she can factor the shop into her budget, without overspending.

According to Nikki, who says you can do the same at any shop with a Click & Collect option, this is a really useful tool for making sure you get 'the exact amount of everything that you're buying before you go in'.

Nikki's followers were impressed by the tip and rushed to the comments section to sing her praises.

One person applauded: "Aww thank you for that. You don't know how many times I'm going for a few things and end up with a £70/80 bill

Another declared that it was a 'great idea'.
