Three women rushed to hospital following horror drive-by shooting in Wolverhampton

Three women were caught in crossfire when shots were fired from a car in Wolverhampton on Friday night.

Police rushed to the scene following reports of a drive-by shooting on Frederick Street at around 11pm.

All three victims were rushed to hospital. While two have since been discharged, one woman remains in stable condition.

West Midlands Police have launched an urgent investigation into the shooting. Detectives are now scouring CCTV footage in their hunt for the suspects.

A police spokesperson said: "An investigation has been launched after three people were injured in Wolverhampton yesterday (27 Sept).

"We received reports of shots being fired from a car on Frederick Street at around 11pm.

"Three women were taken to hospital. Two women have since been discharged. A third woman remains in hospital in a stable condition."

The force has pledged to increase its presence in the area to reassure local residents.

"Such violence is unacceptable and won't be tolerated," the spokesperson added.
