The road had been closed in both directions following the incident. It was reopened at around 10.10pm.
Police had advised motorists that diversions had been put in place and that they should seek alternative routes if travelling through the area. But in a tweet at 10.15pm, the PSNI said: "The Belfast Road in Whitehead has reopened following an earlier road traffic collision."
