Manchester United currently sit fifth in the table, seven points behind Tottenham Hotspur in third and 11 points behind league leaders Arsenal, though Erik ten Hag's side have a game in hand. This means that Wednesday's matchup at Old Trafford is a must-win fixture.
In term of the historic 'Big Six', United are the only team to beat Arsenal so far this season and also chalked up a win against Liverpool as well. But they did falter against Pep Guardiola's Manchester City side, losing 6-3.
Antonio Conte's Tottenham side however provides a different sort of challenge. The Italian has come under criticism for his defensive style of play, but at the end of the day the pragmatism is working and they are grinding out results.

With that being said, they still have dangerous players going forward that United should be wary of. Here are three that Ten Hag should warn his players to look out for if they want to secure victory and close the gap.
Harry Kane
Due to the unprecedented goalscoring exploits of Erling Haaland this season, Harry Kane's great form has gone slightly under the radar. The 29-year-old has nine goals in 10 games so far and will be looking to add to his tally on Wednesday.
Heung Min Son, despite his less-than-stellar form this season deserves an honourable mention and United will need to make sure that while trying to keep Kane quiet they don't allow the South Korean forward too much space.
Dejan Kulusevski
The Swedish winger has been recovering from an injury over the past few weeks and Conte has not ruled out that he could feature against United on Wednesday. He is an incredibly intelligent forward and would provide problems for either Luke Shaw or Tyrell Malacia.
So far in his short career at Tottenham, he has six goals and 11 assists in only 29 games and with the absence of Richarlison through injury he will allow Conte to be more flexible with his tactics once again.
Pierre Emile Hojbjerg
The Danish midfielder has quietly become one of the best central midfielders in the league over the past few seasons since his move to Tottenham from Southampton. He is comfortable both passing and carrying the ball and adds a lot of bite to the London club's midfield.
Given how United struggled against Newcastle to control the ball in midfield, Hojbjerg will offer a difficult test especially if his fellow countryman Christian Eriksen is still unavailable through illness.
