Three things we spotted at Rangers training as Michael Beale watches over key Motherwell preparation

Rangers must stay on track when taking a visit to Fir Park on a Saturday in a bid to keep up with league leaders Celtic.

And while some of Michael Beale's squad may have one eye on two tantalising Old Firm derbies to come, including a Scottish Cup semi-final next month, the threat of a rejuvenated Motherwell is more pressing. The Light Blues after all have an unbeaten league run to maintain and have a sound record in North Lanarkshire.

As the business end of the season draws close and Beale has the summer on his mind, Glasgow Live Sport took a look at Rangers' preparations for the weekend.

In fine Fashion

Fashion Sakala's rise under Michael Beale has been a sight for Rangers fans.

The Zambian's hot form has also earned him another call up for his country adding to his 14 goal contributions in light blue this campaign.

And while the question of Colak or Morelos remains, both the Colombian and the Croatian can take solace in having Sakala supporting them.

The 26-year-old's finishing was, previously, a point of contention but it appears as he has found his shooting boots, Beale wants to take advantage by focusing more in training.

Teaming Tavernier

James Tavernier was all smiles as he pinged an unusual goal at training.

The defender has been involved in countless sessions at Auchenhowie over his long career at Ibrox.

But the skipper seems in fine fettle and even seemed cheeky after scoring a top corner finish, much to the delight of his teammates and Ryan Jack who congratulated him.

The Englishman will be hoping to do the same on the pitch on Saturday.

Matthew taking on the Beale mantra

Damien Matthew came to Rangers with Michael Beale and a pedigree of his own.

The first team coach has previously earned his stripes in the youth systems of Chelsea and Crystal Palace before moving up north with the former QPR man.

And while Beale himself was credited with being the brains behind the Steven Gerrard operation, it appears he has passed on some of his wisdom to the English coach.

Matthew can be heard barking orders and taking intensive drills as Beale's coaching staff get used to their roles.
