Three people have been taken to hospital after a horror crash involving three vehicles in Northumberland.
Emergency crews attended the scene of the crash on the A189 in Blyth this morning (March 21) where three vehicles were found to have collided. The northbound route was subsequently closed north of the A193 Bebside junction while a clean up operation was in place.
According to reports on transport analytics provider Inrix, a car was found to have overturned at the scene.

A spokesperson for Northumbria Police at the time confirmed the presence of their officers at the scene. A Force spokesperson said: “Shortly after 9.20am, we received a report of a collision involving three vehicles on the A189, near Blyth. Emergency services remain at the scene.”
A spokesperson for North East Ambulance Service has now confirmed that their crews attended the scene and that three people were hospitalised following the crash:
They said: "We received a call at 9.15am to attend an incident on the A189. We dispatched a paramedic crew, two crews from hazardous area response and another ambulance. Three people were taken to hospital."
All lanes have now reopened on the A189 and traffic has returned to normal from A193 Cowpen Road ( Blyth ) to A1147 ( Bedlington ) after the overturned vehicle removed on A189 Northbound.
