Manchester City have confirmed the transfer of Erling Haaland with the striker moving to the Etihad in the summer from Borussia Dortmund. Thanks to a release clause in his contract, the Norwegian has been signed for a fee of around £51million.
With City having now signed the best available striker in the summer market (if we assume Kylian Mbappe is either going to stay at Paris Saint-Germain or move to Real Madrid), Manchester United need to ensure they get their own striker pursuit spot on. The Manchester Evening News understands the club want to sign a young number nine to lead the line under Erik ten Hag.
With Anthony Martial potentially joining Edinson Cavani in leaving Old Trafford this summer, Cristiano Ronaldo will be left as the club's only striker, so reinforcements are needed. Let's look at three strikers who United could sign in the summer.

Darwin Nunez
The striker market isn't going to be cheap this summer, but there are a number of young forwards available who would fit the profile that United are looking for. Nunez is one such striker and Benfica could accept a fee of just under £60m for their prized asset.
Some questions have been raised about whether Nunez would be able to adapt to Ten Hag's philosophy and there are also fears that he could simply be overperforming this season. However, with 34 goals in 41 games, he looks the real deal.
Tammy Abraham
Abraham was a good striker at Chelsea but since his move to Roma in the summer he has taken his game to the next level. He's scored 24 goals in 49 games this season and his eight strikes in the Europa Conference League have helped carry the Italian side to the final.
Abraham has all the attributes needed to be a success under Ten Hag. He's a presence in the box and he has improved both his link-up play and defensive work under Jose Mourinho. The only issue could be the price. Some reports have suggested Roma would only be willing to sell for around £100m.
Victor Osimhen
If United can't secure a deal for Abraham, then Osimhen is another Serie A striker who could be a success under Ten Hag. The Napoli frontman has scored 17 goals in 30 games this season but he could have racked up more had he not been plagued by injuries. His absence was a major contributing factor to Napoli falling away in the race for the title.
Osimhen has been linked with a move to United in the past, but when his agent was asked why he didn't make the move to Old Trafford, he said he didn't want to take minutes away from his fellow countryman Odion Ighalo. Now the Nigerian striker has left Old Trafford, could Osimhen finally make a move to United?
