A promising start to March ended in misery for Liverpool as they followed up back-to-back victories with successive defeat - and their hopes of silverware ended.
Liverpool kicked off March with a hard-fought 2-0 win over Wolves thanks to goals from Virgil van Djik and Mohamed Salah.
However, their standout moment of the month will go down in history as they thrashed bitter rivals Manchester United 7-0 at Anfield.
Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Salah all scored two goals apiece while Roberto Firmino netted a late goal in Liverpool's biggest-ever victory over United.

Klopp's men were quickly brought back down to earth in their next two games, however.
They produced a meek display down on the south coast to lose 1-0 to relegation battlers Bournemouth.
Then Liverpool went down by the same scoreline at the Bernabeu as they were knocked out of the Champions League at the last-16 stage by Real Madrid 6-2 on aggregate.
We want to know who has been the standout performer for Liverpool over the course of the month.
Based on these four games, the Echo's writers have whittled the selections to a three-man shortlist and now is your opportunity to have the final say.
Alisson
Things may not be going the way Liverpool fans expected this month but when consistency is needed, there is little place to look than the Brazilian goalkeeper. Keeping 13 clean sheets this season, five of which came within the past month, the Brazilian remains a standout performer when others in the side could only be lamented as having endured an average month. His performance against Real Madrid showed how Alisson continues to lead by example.
Mohamed Salah
Goals may not be flowing in the way the Egyptian managed last season but Salah has proven to be just as much of a threat on a good day. Scoring four goals and providing three assists in the past six league games, Salah overtook Robbie Fowler to become Liverpool’s all-time leading goalscorer in the Premier League in stunning fashion as he wreaked havoc in the 7-0 thrashing over Man United and proved to still be the attacking threat the league should fear, with two goals and two assists.
Cody Gakpo
Having opened his account against Everton with a tap-in at the back post in February, the Dutch star looks to be settling into life on Merseyside. He showed his class, ability to play in different roles and a real eye for goal in an electric performance in the demolition of Man United. The 23-year-old set Liverpool on their way before linking well with Salah to score his second just after half-time. Looks like he could make the No 10 role his own in a potent Reds attacking force.
