Three royals 'didn't acknowledge' Prince Harry after Philip's funeral amid 'frostiness'

Despite trying to heal the divide when Prince Philip passed, it seems still much frostiness remained with reports suggesting that three royals snubbed Prince Harry at the funeral.

Watchers of footage from a number of cameras filming the emotional service spotted Princess Anne, Prince Edward and his wife Sophie appearing to shun the Duke of Sussex, with no interaction spotted.

It was the first time that Harry had been back in the country since his and partner Meghan Markle's explosive TV interview with Oprah Winfrey, The Mirror reports.

A royal insider said at the time that Harry's attendance at the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral was met with "a great deal of frostiness" from the royal family.

"They are very upset," they said at the time.

"They are putting on a united front for the Queen. They all think he has behaved appallingly."

It appears the familial strife has continued with one royal expert claiming Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Jubilee appearance showed a 'deep rift' within the royal family.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to the US after attending just one event for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

Their appearance at the monarch's thanksgiving service in St Paul's Cathedral was another frosty affair, with Harry notably distant from his brother Prince William.

Harry and Meghan sat in the second row for the service, which Her Majesty was not able to attend due to experiencing discomfort during the previous day's celebrations.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams claims that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are now "obviously outsiders" in The Firm.

He said: "A deep rift with the royal family remains although a lot obviously went on behind the scenes to allow for their visit for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

"This follows the visiting the Queen before the Invictus Games began. It would benefit everyone if it could be healed and the royal family were united."

Another royal expert has said Prince Harry took the frostiness during the celebrations badly.

Angela Levin, who penned the Duke of Sussex's biography, said: "The thing that really stood out for me on that day was Harry's anger – he wears his emotions on his face and he looked absolutely furious.

"He could have been feeling lots of things, I don't know whether he had a wave of feeling at what he had given up. He is self-destructive and might regret what he has lost, maybe he was recalling bad memories and was wishing he hadn't come at all."

The Sussexes were also shunned from a Buckingham Palace balcony appearance, with the Queen only having working royals in the line-up for Trooping the Colour.

Prince Phillip's funeral came in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, with strict limits placed on the number of people who could attend leading to the heartbreaking picture of the face-masked Queen sitting alone.

It later emerged two parties were held in Downing Street on the eve of the funeral.
