The Japanese cosmetics company Three began its global expansion in Thailand nine years ago, disseminating its holistic beauty philosophy, based on achieving a balance of mind, body and skin through natural ingredients, particularly essential oils.
The company recently held its Thailand anniversary celebration at Paragon, reinforcing its holistic approach to skincare and sustainable beauty, symbolised by the refillable Balancing Cleansing Oil R containing 100% naturally-derived ingredients.
The blend of frankincense, geranium, orange peel and petitgrain essential oils releases a relaxing aroma while botanical oils and extracts leave the skin supple after removing make-up.
The award-winning make-up remover was developed under the “Balance” concept, which aims to maintain the moisture and sebum equilibrium, easily affected by environment and physical conditions.
The holistic ageing care “Aiming” formulas also deliver a soothing smell through essential oils, such as rose, fennel and geranium.
Botanical oils include moisturising tea seed oil sourced from Shizuoka. Founder Yasushi Ishibashi visited a tea plantation in this prefecture, and discovered how seeds were thrown away because they didn’t have the same economic value as leaves.
Oil carefully extracted from tea seeds has been a signature ingredient since he launched Three in 2009.
Ishibashi also searched for other Japanese ingredients such as yuzu seed oil from Kochi, haskap extract from Hokkaido, thermal water from Oita, and powdered fossilised coral from Yonaguni Island in Okinawa.
Over the years, Three has become an even more organic beauty brand, and the mission is to have all holistic care products globally certified as organic by Cosmos by 2025. The brand name refers to the number three as being “the symbol of creation”.
Sustainability is also on the brand’s agenda. Besides the refillable Balancing Cleansing Oil R, the anniversary event at Paragon featured an eco-activity that invited consumers to drop off discarded skincare bottles at a recycle spot.
