Three players Tottenham could sign from Chelsea after Roman Abramovich sanctions

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich was added to the government's sanctions list on Thursday which saw all of his assets - including the west London club - frozen with immediate effect.

The Blues put the turmoil off the field to one side and beat Norwich City 3-1 later that evening but their problems are far from being solved.

As a result of the sanctions imposed on their owner, to renew contracts and sign players.

That particular sanctions stated that only “inter-club payments to discharge obligations which existed before 10 March 2022 under player loan/sale arrangements” will be permitted - though this lasts until May, so things may change as the summer continues.

With the future of the club up in the air, players may be seeking a move elsewhere.

Should this be the case, Tottenham should be in place to take advantage and sign a number of players from their London rivals.

Here football.london takes a look at some of them.

Andreas Christensen

The centre-back's contract runs out in the summer and it's unlikely Chelsea will get the opportunity to keep hold of him with the new restrictions placed upon them.

Though there is speculation he has all but agreed to join Barcelona in the summer, offering the Danish defender the chance to stay in London could be a major selling point from Spurs.

Christian Romero and Christensen would be a formidable partnership at the back and allow manager Antonio Conte to turn his attention to building the rest of the side.

His Premier League and UEFA Champions League experience is exactly what this side needs as they look to secure their place among the best team's in Europe once again.

Conor Gallagher

Conor Gallagher has been a revelation on loan at Crystal Palace this season and has established himself as one of Chelsea's brightest prospects.

Chelsea have plenty of talent in the middle of the park and with Billy Gilmour also returning in the summer, Gallagher may find himself confined to the Stamford Bridge bench next season, which would be far from ideal in a World Cup year.

Though Rodrigo Bentacur has settled in nicely in north London, passing up the opportunity to bring in a young English player with the talent of Gallagher would be too good to turn down.

First-team football could be enough to lure the 22-year-old away from Chelsea and into Spurs, where he could go on to be the talisman in midfield alongside Bentacur and Oliver Skipp.

Armando Brojo

For years, Spurs have struggled to find themselves a partner for Harry Kane, though the likes of Son Heung-Min and Lucas Moura have been excellent wide forwards supporting the captain.

However, Armando Broja is a special talent who has the abilities and physical tools to lead the line in the Premier League and take some of the pressure off Kane.

At 20, Broja's best years are ahead of him and he will not want to return to Stamford Bridge in the summer and settle for their bench having scored nine goals so far this season in 28 appearances across three competitions while on loan at Southampton.

A duo of Broja and Kane, flanked by Son and Dejan Kulusevski would be one of, if not the best attacking quartets in the league.
