A man has been arrested after three people were reportedly assaulted at a house, which was then destroyed by fire, on South Australia's Fleurieu Peninsula.
SA Police said emergency services were called to a home in the coastal town of Carrickalinga at about 2:50am on Sunday after reports three people had been assaulted by a person known to them, and the house where the incident occurred was on fire.
Police said when officers arrived, they found a 37-year-old Carrickalinga man attempting to leave the scene on a motorbike.
He was arrested and has been charged with assault, two counts of causing serious harm, and arson.
He has been refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.
Police said three people, a 34-year-old Carrickalinga woman, a 48-year-old Carrickalinga man and a 52-year-old Keyneton man, received non-life-threatening injuries.
The 34-year-old woman and 52-year-old man were taken to hospital for treatment.
The Country Fire Service (CFS) said volunteer firefighters on six trucks attended the scene at 3:10am and found the house "fully involved".
The CFS said the home was destroyed, with the damage estimated at $250,000, but crews were able to prevent the spread of the fire and save a neighbouring house.
Police said they were investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire.
