1. Clear out your wardrobe
Most of us have an unbelievable amount of clothes that we wear once and probably never touch again- in fact, 24% of the average wardrobe is thought to be made up of clothes not worn in the last year. Research has shown that the average person has 148 items of clothes in their wardrobe, so working on the assumption that 24% is unworn you could have up to £1,630 worth of unwanted clothing collecting dust. You will have to pay postage, but you should get paid before you send the item to its new home, so this hustle will cost you nothing but a walk to the Post Office.
The three best-known places to sell clothes are probably Ebay, Vinted and Depop, but you can also try Facebook or Shpock to sell locally.
2. Get on you bike
With demand for food delivery services ever-increasing since lockdown, there is a huge need for delivery drivers across the country. If you have a bike - or car - and can spare a couple of hours in the evening, this is a great way to make some extra money. According to reports, a Deliveroo driver can make up to £20 an hour depending on the number of deliveries made and the nature of those deliveries, making this a great way to make extra cash on your quiet days/ evenings. The three best-known companies to look at are Deliveroo, Uber Eats and JustEat, or you could try local takeaways direct, as they often employ their own drivers if they do a lot of deliveries.
3. Do online surveys
This is the ultimate way to earn a little extra with no effort whatsoever - you could even do it while watching the TV. While filling in online surveys won't make you a great wage, it’s completely free to do and anyone can do it, making it a great starting point for those wanting to start making money online without any start-up costs or need for experience. According to Moneysavingexpert members, the three best sites to join are i-Say (previously Ipsos), Swagbucks and Y-Live.
