Three Nottingham city centre roads have been closed as emergency services respond to concerns for a man's safety. Several fire engines and police vehicles were spotted on Wollaton Street at around 4pm on Sunday (July 2).
Traffic monitoring sites confirmed Wollaton Street was blocked, but Nottinghamshire Police now says three roads have actually been closed. As well as Wollaton Street, they include Talbot Street and Hanley Street.
Confirming details of the incident, a Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson said: "At around 3.45pm today, officers were called to Wollaton Street in Nottingham. This was following reports of a concern for the safety of a man in the area.
"Officers remain at the scene and the area remains closed." Nottinghamshire Police confirmed at around 6.45pm that the incident had been brought to a safe conclusion.
The Samaritans run a free 24-hour phone line on 116 123 for people experiencing a range of problems. There is also a website where further details can be found.
