EY has placed three Northern Ireland business leaders in the finals of its 2023 EY Entrepreneur of the Year program.
Douglas Adams from Connected Health, a care home provider across Northern Ireland and the Republic; David Beggs from Pure Pharmacy, a pharmacy chain; and Dr Andrew Woods from green tech firm CATAGEN were named amongst a total of 24 finalists from across the island of Ireland.
They will go on to take part in a “strategic growth programme” over 10 months where they’ll be joined by 100 previous finalists and winners of the award and spend a week at a CEO retreat in Singapore.
The finalists will also compete for a series of awards at a ceremony in November across four categories including Emerging, Established, International and a special Sustainability Award. One of the finalists will also be named EY Entrepreneur of the Year and represent Ireland at the World Entrepreneur Of The Year™ Awards in June 2024.
“We received a record number of nominations for this year’s programme and the highest ever number of nominations for female entrepreneurs which we are delighted to see,” Rob Heron, EY Northern Ireland Managing Partner, said. “This year’s finalists represent a broad spectrum of industries, including technology, manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality, retail, consumer products and engineering to name but a few.
“Our finalists come from diverse backgrounds and communities across Ireland north and south, showcasing the depth of entrepreneurial spirit and talent running through the island.”
