Three more Leicester fans handed banning orders after Nottingham Forest FA Cup violence

Three more Leicester City fans will be banned for a combined nine years following violence at the FA Cup tie with Nottingham Forest.

Craig Flint, Anthony Johnson and Max Hadfield were all handed three-year banning orders after being charged with a range of offences on February 6.

Appearing at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, February 24, Flint, of Leicester, pleaded guilty to a charge of throwing a smoke bomb.

The 40-year-old and was ordered to pay £159 by the court.

Johnson, 54, of Leicester, was ordered to pay £235 after pleading guilty to being drunk and disorderly.

Hadfield, 21, of Leicester, pleaded guilty to a public order offence and was ordered to pay £230 in fines and costs.

Cameron Toner, of Whetstone, appeared in court on the same day, where he pleaded guilty to assaulting three Forest players.

The 19-year-old was sentenced to four months in youth custody and given a football banning order of 10 years.

Chief Inspector Neil Williams, match commander of Nottinghamshire Police, said the men had "let other fans down" through their actions.

“As the district judge quite rightly suggested in their closing remarks, the vast majority of the 29,000 or so people who attended this fixture enjoyed the match and caused no trouble," he said.

“Sadly, there was a tiny minority who let both themselves and other fans down through their actions and found themselves before the courts as a result.”

Tables, chairs and bottles were hurled at the windows of two Nottingham city centre pubs on the day of the violence, while a smoke bomb was let off in the street.

Children were in tears after a violent attack on Fat Cat bar in Chapel Bar where families were having Sunday lunch around 12.15pm.
