Three Mexican Nationals Among Those On Collapsed Bridge

Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse in Baltimore

Three Mexican nationals were among those on the Francis Scott Key Bridge when it collapsed on Tuesday, as confirmed by Mexico's president on Wednesday morning. President Andrés Manuel López Obrador stated that one of the individuals has been rescued and is alive, albeit injured but safe.

Unfortunately, two Mexican nationals remain missing following the bridge collapse. President López Obrador assured that his administration is in contact with the families of the missing individuals, and they are receiving assistance from diplomatic officials.

President López Obrador highlighted the challenging circumstances faced by migrants who often undertake risky jobs, such as working at midnight. He emphasized that these individuals do not deserve the treatment they sometimes receive from certain politicians in the United States.

In addition to the missing Mexican nationals, President López Obrador mentioned that his administration is also aware of other individuals who are unaccounted for, including two brothers believed to be from Central America.

Recognizing the gravity of the situation, President López Obrador pledged to maintain communication with the families of the missing individuals to provide support and updates as the search and rescue efforts continue.
