Three Man Utd moments missed as Erik ten Hag rages on touchline and Antony reacts

Manchester United took a giant leap towards reaching the Carabao Cup final after beating Nottingham Forest 3-0 in the semi-final first-leg at the City Ground.

Marcus Rashford gave the Red Devils the lead with a devastating finish, before Forest thought they had levelled midway through the first-half through Sam Surridge's strike. However, VAR ruled out his strike for offside, to the disbelief of the forward and the home crowd.

And as Forest were starting to grow into the contest, United hit them with a sucker punch on the stroke of half-time as Wout Weghorst struck his his first for the club with a neat finish. Then following an even second period, Bruno Fernandes wrapped up the win for the Red Devils as he slotted home from the edge of the box.

Here are three moments you might've missed from the game.

Ten Hag animated on the touchline

Ten Hag issued a warning to his players in his pre-match press conference after failing to beat either Crystal Palace or Arsenal and claimed his United squad need to remain focused on every single game. That mentality was evident from the get-go as the Red Devils boss cut a frustrated figure after Rashford misplaced an early cross.

The Dutchman then appeared to give Rashford a few instructions following his overhit cross. Moments later, Rashford made amends by producing a piece of brilliance to give United the lead. He ran from his own half, bamboozled beyond two Forest defenders before smashing the ball beyond Wayne Hennessey.

Having also looked annoyed with David de Gea after he gave the ball away in the first-half, Ten Hag is demanding the best from his United players week-in-week out and doesn't want anymore slip ups.

Antony and Rashford differ in goal celebration

Something that was evident after Weghorst scored his first goal for United was Antony's lack of celebration. The Brazilian stood still and barely reacted as Weghorst wheeled off to celebrate his well-taken strike.

Meanwhile, Rashford was the first to congratulate the Dutchman for his goal as he gave him a high-five and hugged him, before they were embraced by the rest of the United team. The England ace looked delighted for his teammate after Weghorst came under some criticism for blanking against Palace and Arsenal in his first two games.

Antony then came over with his United teammates to celebrate the goal as the Red Devils doubled their advantage before the half-time whistle. But the former Ajax winger's reaction showed his tinge of frustration after his powerful volley was saved by Hennessey and Weghorst grabbed the goal.

It's been a tough start to life at United for Antony and it's clear he would've loved to get on the scoresheet, and his reaction differed from the relaxed Rashford's delight for the Dutchman having already got a goal of his own.

Rashford early sub

Rashford has been in sensational form of late for the Red Devils, but there could be some worry after the forward came off in the 57th minute holding his upper arm. The Wythenshawe-born attacker walked off the pitch to be replaced by Alejandro Garnacho, before having a brief embrace and hug with Ten Hag.

Moments before being taken off, Rashford went down following a hefty challenge by Serge Aurier - a decision that was given little attention by referee Michael Oliver. However, Rashford looked in some discomfort as he got up and then pointed at his arm and shoulder to Ten Hag as he strutted to the bench.

He was approached by medical staff when he took his seat but they quickly left him alone, and United fans will hope that is a sign there is nothing to worry about on the injury front.
