Taoiseach Micheal Martin has confirmed what we have all been waiting for - the lifting of almost all Covid-19 restrictions.
Nearly two years on from the first cases of the virus being identified here, the vast majority of measures are set to be lifted.
The Fianna Fail leader told an address to the nation on Friday that the hospitality sector can finally resume trading as normal from 6am on Saturday.
Other restrictions on social distancing and close contacts isolating will also be lifted.
However not every single rule has been lifted, with a handful of key restrictions still in place.
Here is everything you need to know:
The wearing of face masks and face coverings will continue, as will the requirement to have a Digital Covid Cert for international travel.
And finally people who have Covid symptoms will still be required to self-isolate and book a test.
However the Taoiseach was keen to stress that "today is a good day" in his address to the nation on Friday.
He said that the majority of restrictions will be removed as the county moves towards a return to normality.
From 6am on Saturday, the measures in place for pubs, restaurants and nightclubs will be abolished with businesses resuming normal trading hours.
The 8pm curfew will no longer apply, while nightclubs will reopen their doors to the public from Saturday.
Hospitality businesses will no longer have to ask customers for contract tracing details and the rule to have six people at a table will also be abolished.
The Covid pass system for access to these premises has also been lifted.
Mr Martin also announced that the limitations on gatherings and social distancing rules will also be lifted from Saturday.
All indoor and outdoor events will also resume to full capacity paving the way for full attendance for major sporting fixtures this weekend.
Thousands of employees working remotely can expect to return to offices imminently after the Taoiseach announced the phased return to workplaces from Monday.
