Three people have been hospitalised after a serious fire in a Nottingham flat. Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the fire in Fairisle Close, Clifton at 3.17am on Sunday, November 20, following reports from members of the public who had seen smoke.
The fire was in a first floor flat of a two-storey residential property. One fire engine from West Bridgford fire station, two from London Road and one from Highfields attended the incident.
Firefighters used breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, which they did at around 4am. Three causalities from the first floor flat were treated at the scene by EMAS for smoke inhalation – an adult thought to be in their 30s and two young children.
