In her video, the first 'no go' style is a really high pony or a super tight bun.
While these styles may look fantastic, they can cause bad hair breakage around the hairline, leaving you with lots of short strands at the front.
Mary Anne then went on to explain the correct way to brush your hair to prevent damage.
She explained: "[If you’re] brushing your hair from root to end, instead brush your hair from the ends and work your way up."
This will help you to detangle your hair without as much damage.
She also said people should avoid sleeping with their hair down, recommending a low, loose ponytail or a braid secured with an elastic or a scrunchie as an alternative.
Loose hair can tangle when left down, and the friction on the pillow can cause unwanted breakages.
In the comments, someone asked: "So how am I supposed to wear my hair up?"
Mary replied: "Great question! Using a scrunchie instead of an elastic is better as it's not as tight - or a jaw clip. Hope that helps."
In the comments, she also recommended sleeping with a silk pillowcase to avoid breakage.
