Summer Beer Thing, the three-day music and beer festival is set to return to the city centre, following three years off due to the pandemic. It’ll happen from Friday June 24 to Sunday June 26 at the new Kampus development opposite Canal Street.
The newly-created residential area will be transformed for the weekend, with food vendors, booze pop-ups, visiting breweries, live music and DJs. Among those providing food will be Nell’s Pizza, which has opened its new bar at Kampus, along with Ramsbottom tapas heroes Levanter, the Pollen Bakery, Madre tacos, and the Great Northern Pie Company.
Meanwhile, breweries including Vocation from Hebden Bridge and Manchester’s Cloudwater will be among those bringing along new beers and old favourites. Cocktails, meanwhile, are being provided via a collaboration with Campari.
Tickets to the event get you entry and a commemorative glass to sup from, and go on sale at 10am on May 12. You’ll be able to buy tickets for each of the three sessions, 4pm to 10pm on June 24, 12pm to 10pm on June 25 and 1pm to 8pm on June 26. The Summer Beer Thing is the little sister event to the Indy Man Beer Con beer festival, which is taking place at the end of September. It has previously been held at Sadler’s Yard, near Victoria Station, but hasn’t gone on since 2019, due to the pandemic.
In past events, more than 3000 people have passed through over the weekend. Indy Man Beer Con, meanwhile, takes place at Victoria Baths from September 29 to October 2, with a handful of tickets still available.
