Officers have made three arrests during their crackdown on carjackings in Prestwich and Salford.
As part of their new operation, police say they are investigating six incidents - three carjackings and three attempted carjackings - that have occurred since December in the Broughton area.
One man aged 18 was arrested on 8 January on suspicion of robbery and he has since been bailed pending further enquiries.

Two others a man aged 18 and a 16-year-old boy, were arrested on suspicion of robbery after a car was stolen on Saturday 5 February.
Two carjacked vehicles and another linked to robbery offences have been recovered as part of the operation with numerous weapons and knives recovered from the vehicles.
Operation Chaffinch was launched to tackle the spate of carjackings that rocked a Salford neighbourhood.
Last month, residents in the Broughton Park community spoke of the 'fear' after masked men armed with 'knives, machetes and axes' were targeting vehicles in the area.
In January, a Brantwood Road resident spoke of the 'mental scars' left after he was attacked by three men in balaclavas before having his Mercedes stolen, outside his home.
Last week, a man was taken to hospital after he was attacked by violent thugs in a reported carjacking attempt outside his Prestwich home, which police say they are currently investigating.
In a statement to the MEN, Detective Inspector Chris Horsfield, of GMP's Salford district said police have increased patrols in the carjacking hotspots and has called on the public to come forward with any information as they believe people in the community may know the identity of the violent criminals committing the offences.
Det Insp Chris Horsfield said: "Operation Chaffinch was launched in a bid to tackle a rise in carjackings, particularly in the Broughton area.
"The operation involves CID, neighbourhood and key partners with high-profile police activity in the evenings and at weekends.
“At present we are investigating three carjackings and three attempted carjackings that have occurred since December in the Broughton area
“Two vehicles stolen by means of carjackings and a vehicle linked to robbery offences have so far been recovered directly as a result of Operation Chaffinch and Chaffinch patrols, numerous weapons and bladed articles have been recovered from the vehicles.
“One male aged 18 was arrested on 8 January 2022 on suspicion of robbery and he has since been bailed pending for further enquiries while two others fled from a stolen vehicle.
“In addition, two males, aged 16 and 18, were arrested on suspicion of robbery after a car was stolen on Saturday 5 February 2022, although their methods do not fit the profile of Chaffinch offences.
"More recently a carjacking occurred in the Prestwich area - this falls within Chaffinch and enquiries are ongoing to identify the suspects and the vehicle involved. Salford CID are piecing together evidence to link suspects to the crimes.
"Extra patrols, made up of both neighbourhood and specialist units including GMP's Roads Policing Unit, have been deployed in the relevant hotspot areas to provide reassurance to the community, to deter further offences and apprehend those who commit this type of crime.
"I believe people in the community may know who are committing these offences and I urge them to provide any information which may assist the police in apprehending these violent criminals."
Anyone with concerns or information about this type of crime can contact the neighbourhood sergeant via Peter.Macfarlane@gmp.police.uk, gmp.police.uk 101 or the independent charity - Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
