Three people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following the death of a woman in Kirkby.
The incident was reported at around 11pm on Friday, June 16, when Merseyside police officers were told a woman in her 50s had sustained injuries inside a home on Westhead Avenue.
She was taken to hospital, where she died yesterday, Monday, June 19.

A 34-year-old woman and two men aged 60 and 51 were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and bailed pending further enquiries.
A Merseyside police spokesman said: "We can confirm an investigation is ongoing following an unexplained death in Kirkby.
"It was reported on Friday 16th June at around 11pm that a woman aged in her 50s had sustained injuries inside a home on Westhead Avenue. She was taken to hospital but sadly passed away on Monday 19th June.
"A report will be prepared for the Coroner’s Office and her next of kin have been informed. The incident is being treated as unexplained at this time and our enquiries are ongoing. As part of the investigation, a 34-year-old woman and two men aged 60 and 51, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
"All three people have been given conditional bail pending further enquiries.
"A scene is still in place on Westhead Avenue as part of ongoing enquiries. Anyone with information which could assist the investigation is asked to DM @MerPolCC quoting reference number 23000526989."
