Three men have been arrested after a young man was stabbed to death in Hackney.

Metropolitan Police said.

Mr Romeo, 20, was treated by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service but was pronounced dead at the scene.

Scotland Yard said its murder investigation is progressing quickly and two 21-year-old men and a 22-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

All three men remain in custody.

It comes after two men aged 23 and 25 were arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday.

They were released with no further action but detained again over possession with intent to supply Class B cannabis and bailed pending further enquiries, police said.

A family friend of Mr Romeo previously told the Standard he was “vulnerable” and that she had seen him just hours before his death.

She said, through tears: “The day before yesterday, I saw him. He gave me a massive hug.

“What did he do to be dead? He’s like a family friend to me. To me and my son.”

A school friend also told the Standard Mr Romeo was “like a brother” to him.

The friend, who had known the victim for most of his life, explained: “He was a good kid, he didn’t deserve it... He was a good guy. He knew everyone. He was cool.”

Detective Superintendent Kelly Allen, leading the investigation, said: “I would like to thank the public for their support following an appeal issued yesterday to identify three men.

“This investigation is progressing quickly and our officers are working tirelessly to get justice for Jason and his family.

“We are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have information which could support this investigation to come forward.

“Specifically, around two men, we believe were in the area at the time of Jason’s death who officers are looking to identify. Anyone with any information is asked to contact us.”
