Three arrested after man suffers life-changing injuries in alleged early morning assault in Beddau

South Wales Police are appealing for information after an alleged early morning assault in Beddau. Three men have been arrested on suspicion of assault after a man was taken to hospital with life-changing injuries.

Police have confirmed that they were called to reports of a man suffering a serious head injury on Heol Ddu, Beddau, at around 3am on Friday, April 29. A 43-year-old man was taken to the University Hospital Wales in Cardiff where it is believed he has life-changing injuries. Three men aged 36, 40 and 43, have been arrested on suspicion of assault and are currently in police custody.

Heol Ddu remains closed while investigations continue. Police say the incident is not connected to Llantrisant Care Home. A South Wales Police spokesperson said: "Shortly before 3am this morning, South Wales Police was called to reports of a man suffering a serious head injury on Heol Ddu, Beddau.

"The 43 year-old man was taken to University Hospital Wales where it is believed he has life changing injuries. Three men, aged 36, 40 and 43, have been arrested on suspicion of assault and are currently in police custody. The road remains closed while a scene is held. The incident is not connected to Llantrisant Care Home.

On the road closure, a Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson previously said they were called to an incident at the care home. It is thought they were referring to the same incident as the police. They said: "A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at approximately 03:10am today (29 April) to a medical emergency at Llantrisant Care Home. A rapid response vehicle and emergency ambulance were deployed to the scene. One patient was transported to University Hospital of Wales for further treatment."
