A three AA-Rosette-holding restaurant is moving to Liverpool after more than two years in Birmingham.
About 8 chef Andy Sheridan will permanently relocate his fine dining restaurant to a site near to Liverpool's Cavern Club, bringing his three AA Rosettes with him. The chef is from Liverpool and said he 'couldn't say no' when the opportunity came about to move his successful restaurant to his home city, reports BirminghamLive.
About 8 opened in Birmingham's ICC in Centenary Square in October 2020 and is listed in the top 13 restaurants in the sprawling city on TripAdvisor. Confirming the move with his business partner Sam Morgan, Sheridan said: "We’re expanding considerably in 2023, most notably with my return to Liverpool. Birmingham has been good to me, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being part of a great food movement in the Second City.

"That’s where Sam, I and the team created 8 and where we’ve built a reputation. But Liverpool is my home and when the opportunity arose, we really couldn’t say no. Planning is advanced and we’ll look forward to publishing the opening date in the near future."
A notice on the restaurant's website confirms the Birmingham venue closed on February 26 and it is due to open in Liverpool in April.
