Thousands raised for Glasgow family heartbroken at death of 21-year-old in three-car crash horror

A fundraiser has been launched to help raise money for the funeral of a 21-year-old who tragically died in a horrific three car crash in Milngavie.

Ryan Wheeler was one of four passengers in a Skoda Superb when it was involved in a collision with an Audi A4 and a Ford Tourneo on Auchienhowie Road last Sunday, February 26.

Emergency services rushed to the scene at 9.05pm but the Maryhill man, who was sat an the rear of the vehicle, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Friends have shared heartbreaking tributes to Ryan on social media and Abby Grant has set up a GoFundMe to help his grieving family with the funeral costs.

In just 20 hours they have raised £2,045, which is more than two thirds of their target.

Abby wrote on the GoFundMe: "Setting up a go fund me page for a boy who lost his life far too soon.

"Ryan had a heart of gold and always had everyone laughing.. Lets help his family give him the send off he deserves! Rest in peace Ryan Wheeler."

Many of those donating have left tributes of their own to the 21-year-old.

Scott Souter wrote: "Gone way too soon, rest in peace bro." Cody Smith added: "Love you brother."

Police are still carrying out enquiries into the tragedy. A 16-year-old, who was sat in the rear of the Skoda with Ryan, is still fighting for her life at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where she is still in a 'critical' condition.

The 19-year-old male driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital, whilst the other two passengers aged 23 and 17 had minor injuries following the incident.

The 65-year-old female driver and 82-year-old male passenger of the Audi and the driver and four passengers in the Ford van didn't have any injuries.

Officers arrested three males aged 23, 19 and 17 after the incident. It is understood that the 23-year-old and 17-year-old have been released pending further investigation.
