Thousands raised for Dublin soccer star and soldier after tragic death

Thousands have already been raised for a popular Dublin soccer player and soldier who passed away earlier this week.

Glenn Fullam, 26, was a soldier with the Irish Air Corps and played football for Crumlin United FC. The father of one passed this week, with his funeral taking place on Thursday.

After receiving the news of Glenn's death, Crumlin United launched a Go Fund Me page in a bid to raise money for the 26-year-old's family.

Within a day of the fundraiser being launched, over €20,000 had been raised in Glenn's honour.

"Glenn's Football Family at Crumlin United Football Club are setting up this page in memory of Glenn," reads the ;page.

"Those of you who knew Glenn, know he always had a smile on his face."

"Glenn was full of life and was a big part of our club. At 26 years old he was taken away from his family and his football family way too soon, Glenn fought with everything to the end with a smile on his face while still making others smile. Glenn was part of the Irish Defence Forces and served his country with pride.

"Although we can never take away the pain Glenn leaving has left behind, we hope by setting up this page we can ease some of the pressure for his family. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anan dílis."
