Thousands of USB adaptors sold in Ireland urgently recalled over electric shock fears

A large number of USB adaptors have been recalled over safety fears.

Homeline is recalling its Homesafe Universal USB Travel Adaptors due to the risk of electric shock. The socket shutters can be opened without a plug being inserted making live parts accessible.

A whopping 6,040 of the affected products were sold in the Republic of Ireland by various retailers. The type/number of the items batches is MMTA01/JL153 and the batch number is BT1887.

Additionally, the barcode is 5391529360023. A notice on the CCPC website said: "Customers should stop using the product and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
