Police said they are still at the scene of an “illegal gathering” in north Cornwall which led to gridlocked roads. Officers were called to Davidstow Moor, near Davidstow, Camelford, at about 10pm on Friday.
They have urged people not to visit the site. People from across the UK have attended the location, reports CornwallLive.
A spokesman from Devon and Cornwall Police said the force is concerned for those in attendance as well as the impact on the local community. Officers began closing local roads to prevent any more people arriving.
In an updated statement on Saturday, the force said: “Officers remain at Davidstow Moor this morning responding to this incident, which is still ongoing. We are continuing to ask the public to adhere to safety messaging and not to attend the event.
“We will provide further updates in due course.”
Loud booming music has been heard for miles around since around 10pm yesterday (June 3), with the rave showing no signs of stopping as of 9am today. Nearby residents have complained that not only did the music wake them up, it’s become louder as the morning progresses.
Delabole resident Kate O'Kearney said that, at around 7.45am, the music had gotten louder once again and she could still hear it several miles away in her town. She said: "I'm a light sleeper so I've heard it all night.
"It's actually louder now than it was at midnight. I'm no kill joy and love to see people enjoying themselves. My only concern is there are 100s of sheep and horses up there. They must be very traumatised."
The site is located around 35 miles north-east of Plymouth. Latest updates from CornwallLive here
