West Yorkshire Police have seized a substantial amount of cash and drugs after a vehicle was stopped on the A1 near Garforth, Leeds, yesterday (Tuesday, January 3). Officers from the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit took several thousands pounds of cash from the vehicle.
One man was arrested on suspicion of Proceeds of Crime Act offences. Police also searched an address in Moorside Road, Drighlington and seized a large amount of cannabis resin, more money and high-valued jewellery. A second man was arrested at this property.
Both males have since been released as police continue their enquiries.
Photos show bags filled with the drugs that the force obtained. West Yorkshire Police said in a statement: "Police have seized a substantial amount of cash and drugs after stopping a vehicle on the A1 near Garforth, Leeds, yesterday.
"Officers from the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit, assisted by West Yorkshire Police, seized several thousand pounds of cash from the vehicle and arrested one male on suspicion of Proceeds of Crime Act offences. A subsequent search of an address in Moorside Road, Drighlington, Leeds, resulted in the seizure of a significant amount of cannabis resin, more cash and high-valued jewellery.
"A second male was arrested at the property. Both males have been released pending further enquiries. "
