The glass door of the Commonwealth Parliament Offices in Brisbane has been smashed in a CFMEU protest today.
Around 5,000 CFMEU members marched through Brisbane's CBD rallying for the abolition of the Fair Work Ombudsman.
The march was part of a national rally calling on the federal government to "deliver on its promised reforms to industrial relations" and to abolish the Fair Work Ombudsman.
In a post to social media the union said members were arguing against "wage theft" and "sham contracting" while calling for intervention following the number of building companies that were collapsing.
The group gathered in Brisbane at Queens Park for a rally before making their way along George Street and onto Margaret Street, led by a black CFMEU truck.
The protesters were met by 30 to 40 police officers on foot and on bicycles as they marched through the city.
When protesters reached the Waterfront Place offices on Felix Street, they began drumming on glass panels.
No protesters breached the office entry where police were stationed inside.
The CFMEU said they are in contact with building management and have offered to to fix the door.
