Legend has it that the planet Mars was named after the God of War, so naturally when said planet goes retrograde, things are bound to get chaotic.

What is Mars Retrograde 2024?
Like Mercury Retrograde, Mars Retrograde involves the planet Mars going backwards, causing our lives to go backwards.
But unlike Merc Retro, Mars Retro occurs once every two years, making it the rarest retrograde of all.
When is Mars Retrograde?
The red planet will be retrograde from December 7th 2024 til February 24th 2025.
What will happen?
Expect a decrease in your energy levels and your motivation towards life.
You’ll have no inspo at work, you’ll have a decreased sex drive (bummer), you’ll experience heavy mood swings and you’ll be lacking passion in general.
There’ll be misunderstandings and miscommunications galore, so be sure to analyse situations before reacting.
What does Mars Retrograde mean for my star sign?
Aries
Mars stations retrograde in your fifth house of pleasure and passion, so during this time, you may lose your lust for life, Aries. You might start to feel like you’re just going through the motions rather than living your best life, which is what you should be doing. To combat this, go back to basics — remember whatever it is that makes you tick, sparks joy, and sets your soul on fire. Whatever it may be, follow it!
Taurus
Expect drama on the homefront as Mars Retrograde lands in your fourth house of home and family. When things get heated over the holiday season with your relos, friends, and housemates, make sure you pick your battles. Take a deep breath and walk away rather than getting into it.
Gemini
Being a chatty Gemini who always feels the pressure to fill silences with your wit and sarcasm, you have a habit of sometimes putting your foot in it. But be wary of what you say during this time as not just Mars is retrograde, but also your ruling planet Mercury which governs communication — meaning miscommunications are bound to occur! Mega warning, Virgo: you’re going to burn out if you do Christmas the way you usually do and go overboard! Mars Retrograde is about to light the burnout flame and you need to combat it by slowing down and taking it easy. I know you love playing host, but maybe let someone else take over for a change.
Libra
The thing with Librans is that you tend to bite your tongue until you’re ready to burst, and when you finally do, it’s super jarring and you struggle to get your point across ‘cos you’re not used to confrontation. With Mars Retrograde landing in your 11th house of community and friendship, try being open and honest when things bother you, rather than bottling them up.
Scorpio
